Sugarloaf Pictures is pleased to announce that its documentary project developed in conjunction and cooperation with the Tonkawa Tribe of Oklahoma has received funding from the National Endowment of Humanities (NEH). Humanities Texas, the Texas state affiliate of the NEH, has selected Tonkawa: They All Stay Together as a recipient of its Major Grant Award program.

"I am very pleased that our board awarded this grant to a feature film telling the story of a tribe that is indigenous to Texas," said Eric Lupfer, Executive Director of Humanities Texas. "The Tonkawa Tribe's purchase of their sacred Red Mountain in Texas during the making of this film not only connects them to Texas' past, but to its present and future as well."

"I cannot say enough about the privilege to work on the Tribe's story," said Andrew C. Richey, Film Director. "It's an honor enough to be entrusted with guiding the story, but more so to have garnered friendships and be a part of reopening relationships with this Great State and this Great Tribe. We are grateful to Humanities Texas for supporting this work."

This program is supported by Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Any views, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in this film do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities or Humanities Texas.
