A Culture Renewed. A Future Defined.

With its fiercely unique culture that once dominated Texas, the Tonkawa Tribe was on the brink of extinction. Today, the generations that remain are fighting to preserve their language, culture, and way of life, and to rediscover what makes them a tribe, as they reclaim their language and sacred homelands. Tonkawa: They All Stay Together is a feature documentary created in close partnership with the Tonkawa people, capturing an extraordinary moment of cultural renewal. Filmed over four years in Oklahoma and Texas, the story follows the tribe’s effort to protect their traditions, revive long-silent dances, teach the next generation, and reclaim Naton Samox (Red Mountain), their ancestral place of origin. What begins as a record of history becomes an intimate cinematic portrait of survival and resilience, a people defining their future one ceremony, one song, and one generation at a time.
